AI Technology Creating a Safer World

Expert to speak on using AI in security strategies at 2021 Business Technology Conference

Cedar Rapids, IA (Oct. 12, 2021) – From simple tasks like scheduling your next meeting to complex situations such as detecting an armed intruder and sending instant alerts, leading experts at this year’s Business Technology Conference are putting the potential of AI technology center stage.

This high-level technology used to be the subject of Sci-Fi movies, but now it’s available at the consumer level, and the sky is the limit when it comes to its potential applications. IntelliSee’s Director of Product Development, Jared Jeffery, will lead a break-out session along with other industry leaders at this year’s Business Technology Conference. The Conference, hosted by Communications Engineering Company (CEC), has grown to be a regional information hub for the latest advancements in technology.

“In an ever-advancing world of technology this conference gives industry leaders the opportunity to see first-hand how AI technology can bolster their risk management systems, keep them up to date with data information trends, and improve communication,” said Jeffery.

Jeffery brings more than a decade of experience in product development and project management along with degrees in Science and Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. Jeffery will dive into how industries can leverage this advancing technology to mitigate risk in the workplace and explore everything from the basics of AI to a realistic view of the current capabilities.

“AI technology uses deep learning which means we’re actually able to train a system, such as IntelliSee, to pick up on different types of objects and risks and offer alerts before a situation has escalated. The exciting part of this for the commercial market is that this system will constantly evolve and improve its detection to better perform the duties you need it to,” said Jeffery.

For the past two years, Jeffery has been a part of the team at IntelliSee which developed a software platform for this self-learning technology that integrates into existing surveillance systems. IntelliSee, an Iowa-based company and University of Iowa spin-out, specializes in threat detection and risk mitigation and offers real-time alerts to trespassers, slips & fall hazards, armed intruders, fallen persons, and more.
