PEORIA, Illinois (July 25, 2022) – IntelliSee, an AI-risk mitigation platform, has been selected by the Peoria Public Schools (PPS) to increase safety throughout their facilities.
PPS serves 13,782 students across 27 buildings. Safety and security are a top priority for the district, and with the recent tragedy in Uvalde, there is a sense of urgency to act to prevent a similar situation. IntelliSee’s proactive approach to school safety was a driving force behind the district’s decision.
“We’re going to do our job as a district to ensure school safety,” says Peoria Public Schools Board member Gregory Wilson. “That’s a number one priority, the safety of our students, staff, teachers, and administrators.”
IntelliSee overlays existing security cameras to proactively detect risks – like drawn guns, trespassers, slip and fall hazards, and more – in real-time. The platform will be installed this month and will be integrated with the district’s existing processes to manage risks.
IntelliSee does not store footage, personally identifiable information (PII), or use facial recognition, so there are no Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) or other privacy issues.

The platform also improves the longer it’s in use thanks to its deep-learning AI,” said IntelliSee’s Chief Customer Officer Maureen Pajerski.
IntelliSee will be rolled out in select buildings at the beginning of the school year and is being funded through state Title IV funds.
